now all of suppose dodge around we're
gonna have round to my buyer today
the gearbox wouldn't work if we click
into gear what you think in this is the
ferry it's just gonna go in front of us
less than half a mile away he's going at
about 7 knots so he can do seven
nautical miles in one hour so half a
mile is not that much we just got into
if it would have been flat we'd have had
enough wind to sail with the light wind
because as well was so bad we knew we
didn't have enough diesel when we left
too much of it if it wasn't for the
tankers it wouldn't have been a problem
but because it was a bit scary we've got
one two three four five six seven eight
nine ten big cargo ships or tankers or
something out there none of them are
moving on the AIS but we are watching
them and they do appear to be moving
there's half six now so get an hour and
a half sleep tomorrow and then go to
Gibraltar stopped in here to refuel
when I was sleep and we're off again
you've had more than one hours sleep of
new pups I can't live with me like you
I know how to do it now I've been going
for it in my head
[Music]
now a deal's a deal we've got it on
recording you can't expect me if you
suddenly said can you do I don't know
can you paint a picture like an artist
that needs practice too windy too wet I
don't think I went was the best one I'd
lost my hat
[Music]
angry no that's the word that is the
worst it's okay I'll do it
I genuinely honestly I have been
practicing in my head I know that kind
of movement no regrets and in my head
[Music]
we're just entering the Straits of
Gibraltar and at the moment touchwood
it's very calm and very nice weather
this is Spain and over there is Morocco
the Pillars of Hercules it's also known
as I'll just show you the traffic that
we have
[Music]
but we're gonna tuck in on the inside
and we shouldn't have a problem these
are the shipping lanes here
and we're going to go up here should be
pretty stress-free fire Muraki Gibraltar
UK territory yes how are you finding
this Ryan challenging right these are
all the boats on the a is only within
three miles yeah they're all obstacles
you've got dodge around we're finally
here in Gibraltar it's taking on seven
hours today to get here which in they're
very good but we didn't have a little
wind
that's beautiful it's been quite tricky
coming through that you broke Australia
there's so many cargo ships of ferries
and cruise ships and every
we now in the bay of Gibraltar just
about to go into the marina we've got
about two hours sleep
so we're both pretty tired but we want
to go and explore we want to celebrate
that we got here and this is it the meg
starts now

so we're leaving Dubrow today we're not
actually technically in Gibraltar we're
in Spain still but it's the marina right
by Gibraltar beautiful view of the rock
really nice marina but we're gonna head
round to my buyer today
we've come to the fuel pontoon in
Gibraltar it's 62 pence
talita so it's really really cheap we
are literally filling up every single
tank and bucket and everything that we
have we just need about 2 now we go and
pass her over the point we're heading to
my bay up but we may go on a bit further
out depending on how much speed we carry
throughout the day coming up to mob a.m.
now we've started the engine we've got
the engine on for a few hours now
because have been literally you know
we're
the anchor is set we're just gonna chill
tonight we're not going to go to land
because it's a little bit far so we're
gonna get a bit of an early night have
some food and then we're gonna set up at
about half 6 7 in the morning to try and
get a little bit further up the coast up
really early today the Sun is just
coming up over there not really a lot of
wind which is a bit rubbish but we've
got to get on we've got make a bit of
progress we are heading to like an
inland sea type thing in Spain Brian
keeps calling it Alcatraz but I know
it's not I hope it's not there anyway
[Music]
[Music]
just come around the southeasterly
tip-offs pain looks pretty cool dead
flat and you won't believe there's a
storm coming in like 27 hours to show
you oh and the reason i'm wearing this
silly hat is because face still hasn't
jumped off the boat to cut my hair off
the boat we're motoring because we've
had no wind now for 12 hours I think
like literally nothing and we need to
get to calm member the places and inland
sea we've gotta get there before this
storm hits like 37 knots predictable
we've got a hundred miles to do 24 hours
Spanish Navy I don't know what they're
up to but they've been changing their
course all around this don't know if
they're just checking us out or they're
doing some sort of drill yeah we've just
seen a submarine come up there I don't
know if you'll get to see it on the
camera but the Spanish Navy just this
coat come over the radio that they're
doing firing tonight so there must be
some sort of exercise going on but
that's pretty cool it's the submarine
look at what I've had to cope with
why this one over here came out of here
then this one here went in this one I
think wants to come in here
this is asked the dark this one's been
coming from behind us for a while now
about my own him he's alright though
[Music]
yeah and these look these are the main
like cargo-ship channels but on the head
I so hope you can see that this makes
sense so these are the channels
but there's also these lines and they
are then our shipping lanes as well but
they usually feel like fairies nice done
I'm currently trying to negotiate us to
go around this bit because it gets to
like there
Amir's which means that the waves
because there's such a jump the wave
will probably be quite bad I've just
come and watch face them basically all
the night sail
quite a bit about an hour before I come
on watch the wind died so engines
running again it's quite warm and humid
this morning so I think it's gonna be a
hot day I don't know if you can see that
the lighthouse in that town in the
distance but that is inside and inside a
barrier and it's the largest Inland Sea
in Europe I think and this is it here
the whole place is about five meters
deep and the sea temperature in summer
gets up to thirty degrees
I don't know what it is at the moment
but it's gonna be warmer than the
Atlantic or the Mediterranean we're
gonna go sit a storm out there Wow so
stormy 30 37 knots of wind for three
days so I don't mean I that's a storm
but yeah and then we picked my friend
Mick up and then we go to Ibiza phase in
bed she doesn't have much sleep last
night so I'm taking us in through the
channel and I'll wake her up just before
we anchor I found a place where there's
meant to be flamingos here so I'm gonna
go there I haven't told her yet I'm
gonna take her there hopefully they'll
be there and Surprise them and they're
open the bridge now we're inside here
for 10 minutes treading water in this
channel queuing up wait for base to
confuse that we can go through the under
the bridge and it's supposed to open
from 10 o'clock to 8 o'clock at night
every two hours 15 minutes
he closed after 5 minutes but he was 6
minutes before we could even get to the
bridge after we let the other ones come
through and then when I grade you didn't
before and he never answered and then
when i radioed him after he said are we
only stay open for a couple of minutes
just need to basically snowball way
another two hours
oh and the channel they say it stretched
to 4 meters we had 10.1 under the keel
100 mil under the keel then we've got a
kid of 2.2 so it's 2.3 in the channel to
go into this nice so don't believe for
the chart you read about the places so a
little bit nervous because we just tried
to come in and the gearbox wouldn't work
it wouldn't click into gear so now we're
a little bit panicked ah we're gonna
suddenly have no engine which would be
very bad a little bit stressed Ryan
light usual yeah
is it going good yeah
Papi's in a stroke now because she's
been told to go downstairs
is fact so she's listening to everything
that we say
you're supposed to be downstairs now
nah who you're supposed to be downstairs
papi
nah
I don't know what you're doing
